Gemini International, Gemini Humminbird Ultralight

Ultralight Aircraft Magazine -The Gemini Hummingbird is a single twin-engined ultralight aircraft, designed by Ed Sweeny and produced by Gemini International. It uses bolt and rivet together, aluminum tube construction, the wings and tail section are covered in Dacron double surface sail cloth. The wings are also 70% double surface. Building times were reported to be in the 75 to 100 hour range.

It is a high wing, tractor configuration, using two Solo engines, one mounted on the leading edge of each wing. I have seen both direct drive and reduction drives on these aircraft. The craft is a tri-cycle gear, with a steerable nosewheel. Controls are via rudder pedals and an V tail with ruddervators. 

The Hummingbird was powered by two 8 hp (6 kW) single-cylinder Husqvarna AB Partner chainsaw engines with reduction drives, two twin-cylinder direct drive Limbach Flugmotoren engines, as well as two Solo engines with redrives.

The Humminbird is availalbe in both a wire braced version using a king post, the Hummingbird Sport and a strutted version the Hummingbird 103.

Gemini Hummingbird Ultralights, The Hummingbird Prospector,  the Hummingbird 103 and Hummingbird Super 103. 

The Hummingbird 103 used a kingpost-and-cable bracing. 

The Prospector was powered by two Solo 335 engines. While many of the Prospectors were fitted with Limbach 275 cc engines.

The Hummingbird Prospector used reduction-drive Solos.
