Ultralight Aircraft Magazine - Diehl XTC hydro light is an amphibious ultralight aircraft. It uses a twin cylinder 24 horsepower KFM engine in a pusher configuration for power. It uses a canard and has twin tail rudders, and spoilerons on the wings.The pilot sits in the middle of the craft, with a small windshield. All three wheels retract and the nosewheel is steerable. The craft is very pitch sensitive and the 24 hp engine is not enough power for this weight and design of craft.

It has a retractable tricycle landing gear, with a steerable nose wheel. The Diehl AeroNautical XTC has suspension on all three wheels and main wheel brakes.The Diehl AeroNautical XTC was reported to have been stress tested to, + 8G's and -8 G's.
